On 5th may 2012 , Saturday 8 and 9 kalasha poojas can be performed at once in India and in foreign countries on 5th May evening between 6 pm and 8pm.

Till now 7 raksha kavach related 7 kalasha poojas have been told

There are so many people who have done 1 to 7 kalasha poojas without missing.

And there are few who are doing kalasha poojas in between due to some unavoidable reasons


Which day to do the kalasha pooja:

5th May 2012, Saturday

What time to do:

In India: evening between 6:00pm and 8:00pm

In abroad: evening between 6:00pm and 8:00pm

Before doing Kalasha pooja u must do the following first:

On 5th May 2012 Saturday morning, people who wish to do 8th and 9th Kalashas must pray to Lord Sun with all devotion before starting the pooja.While seeing the Sun make sankalp internally that we are doing Kalasha pooja that day

Eligible:

1. People who have done all 7 kalasha poojas before, ONLY they can do the 8th and 9th kalasha poojas on 5th May 2012.


Two Raksha kavachs for this kalasha pooja(8th and 9th raksha kavachs):

1. Square yellow coloured kerchief or cloth which has "Gam" bheejakshara marked on it with cow's ghee and Kumkum -  8th raksha kavach

2. Square white coloured kerchief or cloth which has "Om" bheejakshara marked on it with cow's ghee and Kumkum -  9th raksha kavach

 NOTE:

a.This yellow colored cloth(8th raksha kavach) must be of less than the square white colored kerchief or cloth which has "Shreem" bheejakshara (7th raksha kavach).That means it should be 1inch less in size which is must.If you kept big size then this kalasha pooja doesn't count.

b.This white colored cloth(9th raksha kavach) must be of less than yellow colored cloth(8th raksha kavach).That means it should be 1 inch less in size which is must.If you kept big size then this kalasha pooja doesn't count.

What do we need for this Kalasha pooja:

1) Swasthik marked white kerchief(1st raksha kavach) - How to mark swasthik on the cloth is described HERE 12 X 12 inches approximately white or yellow squared cloth.Even its little less also its ok.

2) Red thread of 11 pogulu(2nd raksha kavach): Red thread (small) - cotton or polyester or woollen thread.11 pogulu(11 times of thread more than elbow size) approximately 12 inches and tie a knot in middle.And hang the knot on the Kalasha(coconut). 1 side is Shiva Konam and the other Shakthi konam.

3) We need the coin or coins(3rd raksha kavach). Ragi or silver coin or gold ( old coin or new which has market value)
Note: It doesn't mean it should be Indian coin only.It can be any coin but must have market value.

You can use 1 , 2 or more coins as you wish.But 1 will be enough for a family.It is only raksha kavach which can be more than one.

4) White colored kerchief or cloth which has triangled marked in it with turmeric and has 1 big tilak(kukum) in centre and 15 small tilaks(Kumkum) all around.

5) White colored cloth marked "Shreem" on it (5th raksha kavach).

6) Square yellow coloured kerchief  which has "Hreem" (6th raksha Kavach) marked on it.

7) Square white coloured kerchief which has "Im(im)"(7th raksha Kavach) marked on it.

8) We need to be ready with 8th and 9th raksha kavachs as said above.

9) Take  3 dry coconut halves(half bowls).We should assume them as Mahakali, Mahalakshmi and Maha Saraswathi.

10) Kalasha can be of any material like ragi(bronze), steel , vendi(silver) or pottery.

11) 1 peeta (small table) and a red colored cloth or any colored cloth OR you may take even the cloth which is used for previous poojas.

12) 1/2 or 1/4 Kg rice(good rice without any stones in it)

13) For deeparadhana use any oil as you wish.It is ur choice as to how many twicks or deepams u want to use.No restriction.

14) You need saambrani( The fragrant gum called benzoin) for dhoop and Karpooram(Camphor) and bell to ring.

15) Coconut to use as Kalasha.You can decorate the coconut as you like but first peel the coconut's husk.

16) Pure water to pour in kalasha.

17) For water fragnance in kalasha we use Elachi(cardomam)

18) For the 8th and 9th kalasha poojas you get yellow or white or red colored flowers.

19) Nivedyam(Offering): Payasam made of sugar or jaggery OR Pongali(Rice or semiya or rice flakes and buffalo's or cow's milk.You can offer fruits if you like and also coconut.

20) 5 Mamidi akulu(Mango leaves) or tamalapakulu(Betel leaves)

21) Turmeric and ghee mixed akshintalu(rice)

22) You need agarbathis,camphor etc are also needed.

Procedure to do the pooja:

1. In the house at eeshanya side or any other part of the house.Make sure you are facing east direction when doing pooja.

2.Take a wooden plank or stand(peeta)

3. Place a new red colored cloth or use the same cloth used for previous kalasha poojas.

4. Pour some good rice approximately 1/2 or 1/4 Kg on the peeta.You can shape the rice like circle, square or rectangle.

5. Do deeparadhana

6.Take sankalpa by saying thithi, vaara, nakshatra and gothra name and then place the Lord Ganapathi(Ganesha) made of turmeric on betel leaf on the rice and pray to him.

7. Offer dhoop, deep,as nyvedhyam offer jaggery.If possible and time permits you can also perform the whole Ganesh pooja.

8. After Ganesh pooja, say udvasana to Ganesha and place it at Eaashanya (north-east)  of the pooja peeta.

9. Now place the Swathik marked white cloth on the rice.

7. Place the swasthik marked kerchief in such a way that the tip1 below is facing you

9. While reading the sequential slokas, place the akshintalu on the sequential numbers starting with 1.

















Swasthik raksha kavach's pooja process(1):
 
a. First place a flower on the centre of Swasthik raksha kavach.
b. Now pray with all devotion.Remove the flower and place it in 1st coconut half.
c. Read the following slokas.......Place "Om" pranav in front of the the sloka and then read with devotion.

While reading 1st sloka in Lalitha Shasranama stothram, place akshintalu on No 1(shown in pic)
While reading 2nd sloka,place akshintalu on No 2
While reading 3rd sloka,place akshintalu on No 3
While reading 4th sloka,place akshintalu on No 4
While reading 5th sloka,place akshintalu on No 5

d. Place 2nd flower on the centre of Swasthik raksha kavach.

a. Next place the triangled marked shodasa raksha kavach(4th raksha kavach) on the swasthik marked kerchief(1st raksha kavach).
b. Place the triangled corner in such a way that its facing you.
c. The numbers are maked for your better understanding ONLY in the pic.
